In the Peanuts World, the ice always looked good. Hockey was part of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz’ life since childhood, where he played on the frozen streets growing up in Minnesota. His career grew and took him to California, where he eventually decided to build the Redwood Empire Arena. There, he would create learn-to-skate programs and establish Snoopy’s Senior Hockey Tournament, the largest senior tournament in the world that takes place each July.
Schulz integrated his love of hockey into his strips where the Peanuts gang would go head-to-head. Snoopy viewed himself as the ‘World Famous Hockey Player’ and ‘World Famous Hockey Coach,’ while Woodstock simply loved driving the Zamboni.
This capsule is a celebration of his love and contribution to hockey, launched in 2022 and now available online at ShopUSAHockey.com.
